Played here at the weekend with my group. First time in around 25 years and it was a 9 holer back then. Ooh, full course number 123 for the list, I suppose.
Near Forres and RAF Kinloss on the Moray Firth coast.
Hopeman GC video.
A short links course, par 68 (sss 67) at 5368 off the yellow tees. Only 5624 off the whites. Green fee. £21 weekday. Can't beat that.
Gorse-lined with true greens and some spectacular views on the older holes. The new holes are adequate but lacking in a bit of character, as you would expect. Good fun, though.
The signature hole is undoubtedly the little par 3 12th down the hill towards the sea. OOB on the right, a 100 ft drop and only 137 yards. Sounds easy? 10 of us missed the green in that 2/3 club wind. Beautiful, though.
Other great holes were the 7th and 18th. Much fun with water at the back on 7 and in front at 18.
I'd recommend it. Irons off the tees if you're having an off day, though. Added bonus of a nice wee clubhouse with outdoor seating and a pool table. Not posh but the hospitality is second to none.
