I played in a comp at my club on the 21.05.11 we were off early as usual 8.30pm. Got to the eightenth and noticed my SC 2.5 was not in it's usual place on the front of my bag.I remember using it last on the 16th. There was a bit of a delay so one of our group who was on a buggy nipped back to see if he could see it,no luck.

After the round myself and a friend went and had another look for it again no luck. since then I have posted notices in the club house in several places and the pro shop.

I was hoping that someone who was playing behind us would pick it up and bring it in and as there was most of the field to go out I was very confident that I would see it again.

To date that has not happened I have even been out again several times to look, I am just hoping that someone has put it in their bag and forgot to hand it in and perhaps the notices will jog their memory. I can't bring myself to believe that one of my fellow members has nicked it.

Gutted... I would be gob smacked if you got it back now but good luck!

I am fairly sure that if you contact Skycaddie they can deactivate it so, at least, there is no incentive for the finder to keep it

I dropped mine a while ago. My worry was that it would get run over by a mower. It never occured to me that a member might not hand it in if spotted.

I hope that someone has just forgotten to hand it in, and finds it in their bag next time out.

I have lost mine in with the clubs before, when I have had it balanced on the club head dividers. Total panic for about 3 holes, then I though of emptying my bag upside down, and there it was. Thought I had dropped it in the rough.

On a similair issue, a guy I play with found a TM 56* SW (the 1 which you can change the face....not cheap) and I said to him just give it in the pro shop and his response was ''no 1 gives my stuff in so why should i give this in'' I was fuming (its not like his short of a few bob)!!!! yesterday I found a vokey wedge and I put it in the bag to hand it in the pro shop and luckily the guy came round and I handed it to him direct. Unfortunately loyalty does not come with honesty!

There's not much more gutting than the sudden realisation that you've "lost" either your favourite wedge or your laser-range finder, etc.

Both happened to me over the last few weeks, and I was lucky both times... got the wedge back by asking the guys on the hole before us if they picked it up, and got the range-finder back by phoning the club the following day to see if anyone handed it in.

In both cases I was lucky by honest members and staff. Valuable lesson learned tho - always put equipment away *immediately* after using it!

Wouldn't even cross my mind to not hand something in I found on the course.....I would feel guilty every time I pulled that club/GPS etc out of the bag. V sad that attitude exists.

Yes Bob I have looked in all the pockets and the bottom of the bag. I contacted Skycaddie and told them I had lost it so no one can use it.Just a note to other users be careful when using there SC with the clip it's not very good.

I do you you get it back but sadly I doubt it. At least you now know it's useless to anyone who may have picked it up but that's a poor consolation for their lack of integrity.

thats Theft! hope you told him so? I would also tell him that you would let the pro know that this club was found on the course by this guy in case anyone wanted it back

Funnily enough I found a mobile phone near the putting green yesterday, so chucked it in my bag then on my way past the clubhouse after 9 holes dropped it in there. After we had finished I found out the guy who lost it was playing there and he had just said great and will get it later, not so much as a thnaks or anything. How rude can you be??
