Anyone got any experience or recommendations for cctv ?

The neighbours have had gentlemen in working in their garden who are no strangers to the inside of a caravan or other people's houses when they are out.

HID saw one of them paying too much attention to our place, has made me wary.

I had an OYN-X MACH2 system using 4 QVIS eyeball 4mp cameras installed a couple of year ago , after a break in our street. It has face detection, cloud storage, Easy smart phone setup for live view & remote playback.
I works fine and records everything clearly, and can be played back through our TV using a wireless mouse.
The only downside is the remote surveilance is through an APP called ORPHEUS, and recently it has not been working quite a lot.
I installed the POE wiring to the cameras myself, but got an engineer to supply the unit and cameras and commission it. Cost £400.

This sounds like my system although I got a company to install it. Have the same app and camera names tho

Yale's entry level home kit installed at home. Simple and effective.

The app cost about £3 I think it was but no fee once it was all set up

Reality check.
House near us was broken into by 5 masked guys twas all recorded on their sophisticated CCTV. Turned up broken back door off hinges etc. all within 5 minutes. Cops took hours and were fairly dismissive of any chances of catching anyone or recovering property.

I'm afraid your CCTV will just give you some pictures of unidentifiable people. Might be a deterrent to the casual but that can be achieved by a few 'dumb' cameras and a 'beware of the dog' sign !!
