Having been on hols for a few weeks, I came back last week to find I was driving better and hitting my irons as well but on the green, I had gained the touch of a blacksmith.
Thinking it was just the one bad week, back out today shot 81, not terrible you say, 3 x 3 putts and a 4 putt from 20 feet.
All were completely out of character usually (I do occasionally get the odd 3 putt) but today I was virtually missing every putt. My bad drives were not putting me in trouble, irons were pretty good, I know if my granny had balls she would have been my granda but the amount of shots I shouldnt have wasted were scarey (at least 4 putts in those 4 holes alone).
Still, buffer zone and looking like I cant possibly go up now for the rest of the competitive year. One stroke competition, a team competition and club champs 36 hole event on the 19th and thats the season over as far as handicapping goes.
Anyone else had a disaster with touch since coming back from holidays?

Not had any problem with touch as I've not got any around the green at anytime. I am putting well but can't chip or pitch at all. It's getting a huge mental problem now as neither shots are difficult in terms of technique. Had 31 points in a friendly today and struck the balll great but missed way too many greens from inside 120 yards including hitting the middle of thepond on 18 from 119 yard with a 9 iron in my hand. Only 20 yards right of target then! :(
