Been off work all week so been at the course practicing and playing most days. Course was really busy this morning so I hit a few balls on the range, had some breakfast hit a few putts and then went out to play a round on my own with the intention of just enjoying the weather and not worrying about how well I played. As it happens I played pretty well and arrived on the par 3 5th in pretty good spirits. 124 yards to the middle and the pin was towards the back so I took the PW out the bag and chucked a ball down. Didn't even bother teeing it up for some reason. Anyway, knew it didn't need to be a full on swing so swung easy and the ball just took off perfectly. I could tell it would be a decent shot but it bounced about 5 yards short of the hole checked up a bit the trickled into the cup. Only thing is nobody even saw it so I just popped my club back in the bag walked upto the green and retrieved my ball.

Just had to share that.

Many congratulations but.......I dread that scenario (having never had an ace) - what an anticlimax!

You can buy us all a pint though!

Well done ! Shame no one was around to see it, maybe a fellow member or greenstaff seen it though ? I had to be a witness to a young lad getting a hole-in-one about 10 years ago as no-one believed him ! But I was cutting the fairway on the opposite hole and managed to see it ( I often watch golfers when I'm near by )

Here's one for you. My boss kind of got a hole in one. He was 3 hours to late in getting one. Anyone got an idea what I mean ?

There were a couple of groups around but I don't think anyone noticed. I should have made a song and dance of it but I think I was in shock haha

Congrats on the hole in one shame it wasn't witnessed but we'll believe you on receipt of a beer! :-)

Great shot loving the choked down punching wedge 125 plus!

I play quite a few rounds on my own and really hope that if I do ever get a hole in one someone will be there to witness it.
Well done though, we believe you.

i honestly couldnt care if anyone was there or not. i would like an audience, but if not id would still be delighted and rest easy knowing full well what i have achieved.

nice one chap :)

That's kind of my feelings on it. It would have been nice for someone to have seen it but the fact I did it and I know I've done it is all I need really. Some young lads were clearing the previous green as I hit the shot so it's possible they saw me just walk up and take the ball out of the hole but I was in such shock I didn't even bat an eyelid when it happened.

Nice, shame no witness though. Did you still buy a round?
I haven't mentioned it to anyone at the club as yet. Not sure if I will or not as it's a bit weird just walking in and telling people I got a hole in one but nobody saw it. As long as I know that's all I'm bothered about really. Well that and I'm too tight to get a round in haha

An ace is an ace.....whether it's in front of a gallery or on your own. Well done fella!

Still waiting for my first, I might just do what my uncle did a few years ago. Got his first AND his second ace in the same round!
