I know the feeling, I nobbled my drive at the tenth and ended up in the cabbage with either a knock out sideways or a 9 iron with everything I had from about 155 yards. I chose the latter and ended up pin high but off the green to the right. I flopped it to 6 feet then missed the putt.

Stupid game.

I always said the best way to birdie a par 5 at my old place was a topped drive followed by a sliced 3 wood, a thinned wedge and chip-in from 25 yards.........

I always said the best way to birdie a par 5 at my old place was a topped drive (to keep it short of the lake) followed by a sliced 3 wood (landing on the little clearing on the right behind those trees), a thinned wedge (to keep it under the branches of those trees) and chip-in from 25 yards (to avoid the 2 very deep bunkers, the bear trap and the pit of snakes!, and to keep the putting stats low) :)
