Hello,

I am a new forum member and new to Golf as well, bought my first set of clubs in November and have been out 2-3 a week since then! deifnitely bitten by the bug.

I'm playing at Silvermere, St Georges Hill and Burhill at he moment, am very fortunate to have a mate who's connected ;) and looking forward to some better weather coming up.

be nice to me, i'm new.

peace out

it is deeply worrying already the levels of obsession that are starting to consume me....i blame the manufacturers!

Burhill and St. Georges eh, well you've certainly started your golfing life on some good courses. I played my 1st ever 18 holes of golf at Silvermere, from memory I think I shot 128, thankfully I've improved a bit since then :)

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome newbie... I am quite new as well and you will find this forum gets really addictive as much as the game. It's certainly replaced my facebook fix! The joys of an iPhone and being one click away!

Hope you enjoy your golf and enjoy this forum. :) :) :)

Welcome along. Your nice and local so if you ever fancy coming up to Royal Ascot for a game let me know (not sure it will compare to such illustrious courses as Burhill and St Georges). If you fancy meeting some fo the other inhabitants on here there is a GM Golf Day at Royal Ascot on June 9th that you're more than welcome to come along to

sweet, yes i'm definitly looking to get out on the course as much as possible and on as many courses as possible.

Being a total noob I only have one pal that I play with and he plays off 3 so it's slightly overwhelming to say the least..

Whats the Golf Monthly day? sounds fun!

Welcome along.

What is it with us men and obsesive behaviour!?

Homer will enlighten you regarding the Spring meet at Ascot. I went last year, and it was great to meet up and put faces to names. Though often confusing matching up login names to real names. But a good day otherwise.

Basically it's £50 for the day which includes bacon roll and coffee on arrival, a round of golf, two course meal and prizes. Its open to any forum member but if you need more there is plenty on the arrange a game section or you can send me a PM.

It would be great to see you.

Stick with playing with your mate off 3. That is how golf should be played.
The less time you spend with people like me chopping around the course the better.
There is no reason you can not play like your mate in a couple of years. Enjoy and good luck

Hi,St Georges Hill is one of my favourite courses. If you can play regularily around there, you will be come a serious golfer.

yes absolutely, i play for their tennis team so one of the advantages is you meet lots of people who are also members of the golf club...not much chance of joinging though, somethign like a 14 year waiting list i believe

I played in the Surrey Chamber of Commerce golf day, and sat next to the organizer who was a member of the club. He told me that he was also a member of the tennis club and he got some sort of preferential treatment when he applied for membership. Mind you i was 'celebrating' winning a prize, so i may have got it all wrong !!

Silvermere is a very good pay as you play course, and has a cracking pro shop.

Shame you don't live closer to my course, Blackmoor, near Bordon, another Harry Colt course like St Georges Hill, and no waiting list.
