Started playing a couple of months back and loving it. Been reading the forums for about that time as well and figured I should get involved. Been hacking my way round a local 9 hole course and will be looking at a membership around spring next year.

Looking forward to chatting to all of you about this game and everything that goes with it!
 
Welcome aboard AJ. You are certainly in a great part of the country to take up golf.
Normally plenty of things going on through the year on here (just had a meet at Crail a couple of weeks back which was great). Mini meet at my place (Muckhart) in early October if you fancy (check Arrange a Game section).

Your missus will get used to it. :thup:
 
Thanks Greig. Very fortunate with where I live being located to a good selection of courses.
A very kind offer but may have to give it a few months and a lot more practice sessions before subjecting anyone to my game.

No worries mate, the meets are full of all abilities so don't let that put you off. I'm sure there will be many more through the close season as well as in to next year.

So which Eastern gems are you close to?

Well I've been frequenting Musselburgh Links 9 hole course the past month or so to get used to going around a course. A bit closer to home is Longniddry, Royal Musselburgh and Monktonhall. Not much further down the road you have Haddington as well which looks okay. Plan on going round a few of them before applying for a membership and see which ones suit me and whether any of them will have me!

That's a great choice you have there and it will be a tough one :thup:. Longniddry is a great course as is Monktonhall.
