Hello to everyone, this is my first thread, I have some Taylormade Rocketballz irons and I noticed the serial number on the 6 iron is very very light I have to look very closely to see the numbers, I have heard this is normal. Could someone out there who has these clubs have a look at theirs and let me know. I did buy these off e bay and was told after I bought them that there are a few fakes being sold.I did not get them cheap. they were £170 for 4-pw. They do look ok. I am going to take them into American golf shop to ask if they could help.Just thought I would post on here to see if anybody has any ideas. Thanks

Yes ,I had him look, he was the one that spotted the serial number, it is really hard to see. He said he could not tell if they were fakes or not. He said if they were fakes they were really good ones. That said, it does not answer my question.
Thanks for the replies

Taylormade should be able to give you all the details needed if you phone them, they did with my cbs including date of order, and which outlet they were ordered by,

Hmmm...£170 for RBZ 4-PW does sound cheap to me - especially when compared to the going rate of other sets. Ebay is notorious for selling fakes, so maybe you're not out of the woods yet. If you haven't confirmed their authenticity yet, then you ned to take them to an authorised TM dealer to get them checked (by sending them directly to TM if necessary). You need to do this in a timely manner, because if they turn out to be fakes, you need to inform Ebay and file a claim (provided you used Paypal?) before the claim time expires.
Key points: if you want to avoid potential counterfeit products - buy from an authorised dealer! If you got a cheap set from Ebay from someone with less than 100% feedback with fewer than 500 sales and without a cast-iron return and refund policy - oh dear. For the record, serial numbers mean absolutely nothing - they can be cloned from genuine sets which in turn get stamped on fakes. It all about the complete product - usually, genuine product quality is obvious and fakes are laughably inaccurate. However, fakes are getting a lot harder to spot. Use your noodle next time you think about buying off Ebay - some sellers are trustworthy and honest - their reputation, feedback and refund policy usually confirms this. But then again, they don't usually let sets of RBZ irons go for £170 either...

That's rather harsh imo.

Anyone with over 100 feedback and either 100% or very close (I allow 1 screw up but check the reason) is pretty reliable imo - unless they cancel any their dodgy sales! I go by what they are selling as much as anything else.

Paying through Paypal and getting them checked out quickly is the best way imo.

£170 is a good price, but not exceptionally low for RBZs. They are 2 generations, well releases/years, old after all. Of course the auction price for a set of real RBZs would be the same as that of non obvious fakes - so auction price is actually nothing to go by.

@OP. When did you buy them? Are you hitting them well? It is worth contacting TM with your query - and mention the S/N being on the 6 as well.

Bit harsh and don't you think ?

The price for the RBZ irons isn't far from the norm - AG were selling them at £229 not so long ago

Harsh maybe, but not as harsh as finding out you have bought fakes because you wanted to save £50. I hope it works out for the OP though.

I actually played with them really well, I have bought things off e bay before and have had no problems, I know there are fakes out there. The guy I purchased them off had just joined e bay in January, so had very little feedback (I know some of you will be saying I should have gone with someone who had loads of feedback). Yes you are probably right, I suppose he could be genuine though, as you have to start somewhere.

I have just noticed that the serial number is on all my clubs! a different number every time, the last 7 numbers are the same. I did have to use a magnifying glass to see them though, I have just registered them with TM and they accepted them.It would be nice if someone out there had the same clubs and could check there's.

So you have good some genuine clubs at a good deal good work using your noddle
