Hi there, does anyone have decent info on the differences in certain shafts. I was wondering how stiff project x 5.5's were. What would the other choices be in something similar.

I was fitted today for the new Titleist mb forged and they recommended pro x 5.5's. my tour preferred had 6.0 and i didnt like them that much....felt they were causing me to leak shots left and losing distance....

thanks in advance to all you guru's out there. :)

PX 5.5 is slightly stiffer than TT DGS300, and 6.0 is between S300 and X100.

I think a lot depends on your swing. If you have a fast tempo, PX seem to work well - I have PX 5.5 myself. They do feel rather dull though.

Other obvious choice is KBS. They were designed by the same guy who designed PX, but unlike PX are intended to have good feel. Playing characteristics of KBS and PX are like one another than TT DG is to either.

I suppose it is unlikely that you ever find yourself in the Basingstoke (North Hampshire) area, but TM have a fitting centre there, and I know the pro in charge. He is very good and really knows his PX and KBS stuff.

I've been playing with ZBs irons for the last couple of rounds, there not mine but they were fitted with latest DG stiff high launch shafts. A lttle too stiff for me but the long irons,3 4 and 5, were cotton to hit with a massive sweet spot. Not a fan of rifle type shafts myself but these DG HL were good.

thanks lads, Ethan would you recommend dynamic gold s300's over project x 5.5

I was really impressed by the guys knowledge today and he totally transformed my driver, 3 wood and hybrid stats. Thats why i was surprised to see the 5.5 x's being best for me. didnt get to hit the dynamic golds.

I got fitted the other day at the Carnoustie Golf Shop for a set of Mizuno MP52's after using the gizmo they have for checking the results the info was put into the laptop and recomended 4 shafts , KBS,DGS300,PX5.5 i cant remember the first of hand the strange thing is i got fitted in July for Callaways and they were PX5.0.

We tried the PX5.5 then the DGS300 in the 52's and the 62's the results were like night and day the spin rate was nearly 3 times higher in the DGS300 than the PX5.5 , so i went with the PX5.5 ,played Saturday with them for the first time and noticed a big difference in flight with these they hit them on a lower flight and drill right thru the wind and are a club longer than my Callaways ,hope this helps.

Really helps....I have plumped for titleist mb blades, and really wanted a lower ball flight with less spin. the px 5.5 seems to be the right choice. ended up with a bill of over £1500!!!!! :o

Might need to try that Largs, that would guarentee a divorce and more golf come summertime!

Would miss the kids though!!!

It is hard to recommend one over the other. It really depends what suits you best. Many pros use TTDG and many use PX. KBS is starting to make an impact now.

I switched from TTDG because my pro diagnosed using a launch monitor that I was spinning them too much and losing distance.

If PX5.5 has been recommended for you, that is probably a better choice.

I was referring to the £1500 outlay on yet more golf sticks as my wife refers to them!

Uneducated fool that she is!
