My right knee has no ACL, I am struggling at the moment. I have reduced my stance width so as not to leave my weight on one side or pivot the knee as it disconnects.
Does anyone know a pro who can help ?

Before I had my left ankle ligament reattached ( right handed golfer ) I was constantly going over on my ankle. I learned to open/ rotate out my left foot, so when I swung my club I was not putting to much twist and strain on my outer ankle. I had mentioned this to a pro who gave me a lesson and he said that is a usual stance if people have ankle, knee and hip problems on there Lhs.

Hope it works out for you me man.

Not sure a pro is actually going to be your best option but if it is would look for someone with TPI credentials

Have had problems with ACL for 20+ years (albeit i still have one) and have learnt more in the last 3 months about anatomy of the whole leg (rather than being focussed just on the knee as i had historically) from a pilates teacher who is also well versed in body mechanics. Ive spent 20 years locking down at the foot and the hip thinking that was protecting the knee where as actually have done more damage. What ive learnt is that getting the hip and foot to function properly is the best way to relieve the pressure and issues on the knee.

Not saying will be the same but maybe worth talking to someone in this area

I have poor knee cartilages and strain my right ACL if I try to swing too hard, long or fast. I also have a horrible habit of turning on my foot, and the from the knee up I turn, but below the knee stays still..yes its very painful.
Cutting the backswing, slowing it all down and controlling it all has saved my knee and my ability to play the game.:)

I've had a left ACL graft as well as both hips resurfaced, i find that, being a right hander, splaying the left foot quite open at setup is hugely beneficial. It not only takes a lot of the pressure off the knee it also allows a far better hip turn.

Thanks all, I have managed to get out.
I have narrowed and splayed my left foot. No pain, or issues.
:)
