Thanks for the welcome guys. Just had a little stint in hospital, so off work for a few weeks........expect I'll be on here a lot! My wife brought me a copy of Golf Monthly when I was laid up and the forum looked excellent, so decided I had to join up. Looking forward to getting involvrd.

Why are you not a member at Stonehaven? Torphins is a good drive from Stonehaven and is only a 9 holer isn't it?

I'm playing Stonehaven on the 9th August in some team comp, only played it once about 6 years ago, seem to remember great par 3's , not so great par 4's - is that right?

Thats right Birdieman, Torphins is only 9 hole with some different tees and greens for each nine. While Stonehaven is a good and picturesqe course, it just doesn't suit me. You're about right with the par 3's and 4's. The course isn't everyone's cup of tea. You will enjoy the holes over the Gully. My reason for joining Torphins is my mate is a member and it's only a 35 minute drive. It's a tough wee course!
