Sitting watching murray play nadal great tennis all round, however a little worried we might have another Henman on our hands albeit a much better one.Bottled the first set at 4-4 serving and dropped serve, tie break second set serving for set oops again, hoping he can turn it around it would be a great victory but a little worried when it comes down to the big points he crumbles.

Give him a break, I say. He's not a Henman, he's far better....you said it yourself?!

I don't understand why in any sport if someone does something wrong at a critical point he's a bottler.

People make mistakes at any time. He is playing the world number 1 after all.

It's how the pressure affects you physically. He might mentally still be trying to win but the muscles suddenly switch off as the pressure mounts... ask Smiffy, he's the expert on these things,..... apparently wee can come out too

Ive decided we have got another Henman just a better one.Henman got to the semi final 4 times and bottled it Murray is on his way.Real champions come up with the goods at critical times when the pressure is on thats what Nadal did,and thats the same in any sport turning it on when it matters.

dont think he bottled it.

I do think that he plays it too safe, keeps it in court and hopes to force a mistake. The very best players go for their shots at some point and hit winners. He doesnt do it enough

We watched it at work today:

Before it started he was born in Birmingham.

After the first set it was Manchester.

During the 2nd set tie break it was Newcastle.

At the start of the 3rd set it was Berwick.

You can have him back now till next time :p

Tough to call him a bottler when he's beaten the best players and won tour titles. Bit like saying every golfer who has won on tour but not got a major must have bottled it. He's still young and will continue to get into position to win a major. Once his career is over is the time to decide whether he really had what it took

Murray just comes across as a right miserable git with the personality of a garden shed! Nothing to do with him being Scottish and (allegedly) having a go at England.

Murray will have the same problem as Henman. It isn't bottle related. They are both winners, who could grind it out when it gets tough.

The problem?

They aren't good enough.

Good, yes, but Henman couldn't beat Sampras in a major, and Murray will never beat Nadal or Feds in a major. That makes it tough.

I don't feel sorry for them though, the massive earnings kind of offset that for me.

Why post then :D
I'm sure it was a jokey comment Basher, showing a sense of humour by him, but I dont think he cares if you like him or not, or if he's accepted by some. Most of the top players in any sport are often seen by the media as miserable. Can you name me any top player who jokes and laughs all the time?

Well murray did beat nadal in a major the US open!! Which he lost in the Final :)

Easy answer, but I think if Murray/Henman etc dig deep enough to win, then they are F'ed for the next round. The old 'that's the hard part done'.
