Ours is played 18 won week 18 the next week then the top 16 Cat 1 players play knock out till the final which is 36 on the sunday ,same for the handicap .All the finals are played on the sameday seniors ,women ,men and juniors

Well its the first year we've tried it this way. The thinking behind it is that a lot of the seniors find it a struggle to play 36 holes in one day and we've also had incidents where players having a nightmare first round have just gone home at lunchtime.

To be fair this format isn't too bad and it was my own incompetence that led to me having the day off. There are a lot of high (20+) guys that made the cut and the guy leading the handicap section shot a gross 76 off 15 so its not a scratch golfer festival.

I actually like the format and there was some great banter last night waiting for the last few groups to come in and seeing who would be a casualty.
