Very disappointed at the lack of style on the golf course these days. Most people wear baseball caps or visors these days. What ever happened to the Greg Norman style straw hats?

You are such a muppet - whoever you are, and obviously still have never so much as set foot on a course.

Ive played Golf for over 20yrs, and have NEVER seen anyone wearing a straw hat 'like Greg Norman used to wear'.

If you are just going to post absolute sh1te all the time like you have done so far, go to another Golf Forum would you please......we really arent interested in your tosh.

Trying to treat this like a normal thread :D
I wish I could find somewhere to buy one of the old style visors, not the recent Poulter design girly ones. Ive still got a lot of hair for an oxygen thief and find hats to hot, even in the winter
Any ideas anybody? :p

I always wear a hat because of my baldy head. I would like a Greg Norman type hat but baseball caps and wooly hats are much easier to keep in the jumble sale that I call my locker. I've got a Jackaroo hat that I wear off the course in summer but I don't think a brimmed hat would last a week being crammed in with my golf bag and shoes.

shame Callaway dont make a hat like that (its a normal hat with Callaway branding added), been looking for that sort of hat (to keep the sunburn away)

You will usually get them in Markses or in primark failing that then it's a trip to sunny espania. I have one for the hols but not on the course, you have to be a good player to carry off funky gear.

Never has a post been more about playing the man and not the ball. Lighten up!

I never wear hats on a golf course, unless it's tipping it down. I'm considering buying a visor for those days when the glare is too much though.

He doesn't wear one in case it slows the aerodynamics of his swing down. :D ;) I think you'll find it is more to do with fashion moving on. I remember in the late 80's and early 90's these Greg Norman hats were around quite a lot (my mate was a big Norman fan and had one) but apart from Quiros and a few guys on the Seniors they seem to have gone out of fashion a bit hence why there are very few stockists. I'm sure once summer arrives if you shop around on the web they'll be similar designs but probably without the logo's

I played in a Society day, and we were all given straw hats, like the one Norman used to wear. It was a blistering day, and they were very welcome. My swing must have been smoother in those days, as i don't think with my current lurch i would be able to keep it on. :(
