Has anyone been to Munich???

Day trip last May; can highly recommend the inside of the Allianz Arena and the sight of 40,000 red shirted Bayern fans standing there in stunned silence as the blue contingent went potty :D

Places to stay I can't help with, we were on a 24 hour day trip, no accommodation. As for bars restaurants we found one we liked near the city centre, excellent steak and beer, again if that interests I can get the map out and find the road, one of the others will remember the name. What I would say is if you have time to wander round and it appeals, look at the architecture. There are some stunning buildings and particularly churches; if that interests you let me know & I will dig the map out and tell you where the ones we looked at were. BMW World, out near the Olympic Stadium, is quite interesting if you are a petrolhead. Similar to Mercedes World at Brooklands if you have been there.

Went last October and had a fantastic time. Got engaged at neuschwanstein castle!

The Augustiner Keller about 500 meters west of the main train station was brilliant, massive beer hall. Also 2nd the recommendation for the resturant under the Rathaus in the center if town. And for the best breakfast go to the roof top restaurant directly opposite the Rathaus (can't remember the name) something like glockenspiel.
