Well after 2 months of lessons, practice drills and everything else you can think of my swing has now officially Gone, didnt think i had a bad swing before i started taking lessons, but pro pointed out correctly that i wasn't making a shoulder turn, which has lead to me probably focusing on doing it too much, result = no confidence at all in my swing and have now started to hit every bad shot possible, the main one being the dreaded j.arthur , seems a bit pointless stopping lessons now might aswell keep at it and see what happens, least on the bright side i cant get any worse, bloody game :D

if you'd have seen me hitting balls at the weekend you would have thought 28 handicap was generous, its my own fault ive only played about 5 games this year too much time on the range and not playing enough hasn't helped

I'm the same - I've only managed a couple of full rounds this year.

You just have to accept that it'll take a few rounds to get any kind of shape to your 'real' swing. Last time out I didn't break 100 by that much, but I hit enough decent shots to know there's something there, somewhere.

I'm hoping to get a couple of rounds in during June, and I reckon there's a 34 or 35 pointer in there...

I hope :D

just hope it comes back as quick as it went :D nearly june and hardly played , even the mrs was asking whats wrong she,s not used to seeing me on a saturday

golf is a gmae where you only borrow a swing, its never owned by you......EVER

whoever lent me this ones a w****r

:D

I think it turned yo with me on wednesday managed to round 9 over gross with 2 double bogeys not bad for somebady hacking around 12 (just hope it doesnt mind hanging about for another month or so)

I've been there with you, nothing you can do but keep going with it and it will get better. Won't be quick, won't be easy but you will come out better in the end. At least I did. After one lesson I couldn't even hit the ball and I don't mean hitting it badly, I couldn't actually hit it! Glad I persiveered though, I know I'm hitting and swinging much better now and my scores are begining to show it.

Much like you, I have ransacked every pocket of my golf bag looking for where I have left my golf swing. Sadly, I think I might have left it out on the course back in march. No one has handed it in either.

Sometimes you have to take a few steps back before you make big steps forward. Stick with it even though it feels soul destroying right now. It will come. Alternatively go back to the pro and say you don't feel like you're making any progress and get him to look at the swing again. It might be you've developed another small flaw while working on the drills

Mine's just gone on Holiday......
Might come back by mid-summer unless it meets some Pretty Young Thing and then it might return in the Autumn....

I went on the range today and found someone's swing...!!!! :)

It was mine I lost last year, and I'm at a new club! I'd of never looked here for it! ;)

Just hope I don't loose it again by the time I play tomorrow morning :( ;)

went up the range tonight in the hope it might amazingly come back, pro gave me a tip to stop the j arthur,s , put a piece of 4x2 wood next to the ball to stop me coming from the outside, it really helped, especially with my yardages, i now know i can hit a piece of would with my 7 iron exactly 10 yards

You just have to accept that before you "find" the right swing you'll wander across a couple of hoofers on the way.

If you stick with the lessons your pro will have you finding the correct positions to go through..but your body and mind will just take a while to accept the changes.

It'll be backwards before you go forwards if my experiences are anything to go by. Stick with it. It's worth it.
