Ok, Spurs have outperformed themselves this year.

How much of that sits at Harry's door?

But also Harry has managed Bournmouth and had success and failure there.

I also think that a lot of the financial problems at West Ham and Portsmouth can be fairly put down to Harry's gung ho and selfish views on management.

He showed his loyalty by quitting Portsmouth and taking the job at Southampton, and his strength of character by quitting Southampton when they got relegated.

I know he's a good man manager, but I half expect Spurs to overspend hugely this summer, chasing Champions League glory, and then when the doodoo hits the fan, Harry will be off to sunnier climes, leaving spurs fighting off bankrupcy.

Ok I'm obviously biased, but what do fans of Bournmouth, Portsmouth, and southampton think of him?

I'm expecting the Spurs fans to be wearing their rose tinted specs at the moment, but are there any fears out there?

And finally...

Is he good enough to be the next England manager ?

I could not see him as England manager tbh from Capello to Redknapp what a come down

On a plus point he couldn't bankrupt England...........Could he

You also forgot to mention that he is in the high court soon to answer allegations over his tax issues

Certainly agree chasing big players on high wages for the champions league could put them in trouble financially in years to come, however spurs are a big club and need to think big and speculate to accumilate.I do see a big club like Leeds in the past spending way above there means and maybe going into administration. If portsmouth can go there for 130 million just imagine whats going on at bigger clubs.

you need a middle ground answer too!

he can certainly manage, but at some cost! he's not the only one spending more money that they have and he as arguably better results than those spending similar or more.

Very very good manager... not so good on the accounting side of things!!!!!!

Daniel Levy is no mug. He isn't about to do "a Leeds". There is a strict wage cap at Spurs that has prevented us from signing certain players before, that isn't going to be broken just because we've finished 4th.

We always spend a lot of money & certainly aren't in any financial trouble. Harry being our manager isn't suddeny going to see us fighting off bankruptcy.

You have to say he's a cracking manager even if you don't like him, which even alot of Spurs fans don't.

I like Harry, maybe a bit of a rough diamond, but a cracking manager, although I wouldn't put him in charge of the money pot, coz thats not where his strength lies.

He knows the game, knows how to get the best out of the players and thats what counts.

I come across people everyday who are fantastic at their job, but cant handle money, sort of a financial dyslexia.

Play to your strengths I say

Borderline crook and about as progressive a thinker as Norman Tebbitt.

It's idiots like him, talking their cliched hackneyed nonsense from the 70s, that are entirely responsible for our kick-and-hoof game.

When his mouth moves, you might as well be in the back of London cab for all the insight you get. Of course, the media love-in that is Fleet St and Sky means he is immune from serious criticism.

And let's not forget he gave the world Jamie 'top top player' Redknapp...

All of what he said, but especially the bold bit.

Blimey. Sorry if I've offended the Redknapp lovers. He is a dishonest crook in my opinion. I feel he has a total lack of loyalty and integrity. You cannot move from Pompey to Southampton (or vice versa) or West Ham to Spurs (albeit indirectly) without ruffling a few feathers.
Thread title "Guru or Goldigger" could be "Genius or Scumbag". Either way I was just joining in the intellectual debate. Perhaps I should get Mary Poppins to edit my posts in future.

A scumbag

I think this expression and others similar to it has been, is and will be used, to describe our 'arry!!

OOT? Don't think so in this instance.

It is the arena of football when all said and done and every ref has been called worse.
