Hope this hasn't been covered yet if it has I apologise...
Been reading in today's Irish Daily Mirror that Padraig has dropped Bob Torrence as his coach after 15 loyal years with him...

What's he at...I think in my opinion that its not Bob that's the root cause of Paddy's problems...
I think he's making a big mistake.
 
Im not entirely sure that its his coach thats the problem fella's.

After all Bob was the the one that told him not to mess with his swing..
Look at where it got him.
 
I agree Torrance was a big pat of Harringtons success but given that Harrington has spent the last few years changing his swing against Torrances advise a split is the best option.

IMO Harrington should play the next two events, take the rest of the year off to get himself right to face into 2012. I also think a change in mamagement, caddie are also called for.
Nothing against Flood as a caddie but 5/6 years is a long time as a partnership and things can go stale.
 
i think at he is more looking to blame some one for all is poor form and Bob is first in the firing line,which i do think that is wrong as he told him not to try and fix what is not wrong

Female speak for its over dodge mate, kinda like the word FINE... that equates to ITS ANYTHING BUT FRIGGIN FINE .. or DO WHAT YOU LIKE ..that equals YOUL DO WHAT YOUR TOLD OR HEAR ABOUT IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE BOY :D :D :D BREAK = SPLIT.. cant do any harm if he not listening to what BT is saying anyhow .. needs to sort his head out & let his natrual game take over again
 
Harrington will possibly go down in history as the worst golfer to win 3 Majors, and maybe also one of the most stupid. After years of grind (to his credit) this journeyman hit the big time. Then what does he decide to do? Change his swing. Big time stupid. I'm also informed by people who have watched him in person that he is possibly the slowest player of all time, and makes Ben Crane seem like he is on fast forward..
 
Harringtons big mistake is having a entourage. If his late father was still around none of these conditioners, head coaches etc would be around. His father would have told him too wise up and stop wasting money.
As said a break from Bob and the rest of his entourage might suit him better and maybe even work for him.

The man has worked very hard to win, and has, 3 major victories are not to be sniffed at, 1 major, had you said he was lucky, then possibly, but he won 3!

I agree that he should not have messed with his swing, but he has had problems off the tee and looked to rectify this, his short game is excellent and putter was always fantastic, bit cold at the minute, but I guess that maybe down to his problems off the tee impacting the rest of his game.

I think a move from torrence will do him good, maybe he can stop being so technical and just get back to hitting it like its a hurley ball!! lol
 
It can not get too much worse, but where does the studid comment come from. Tiger has done this a number of times and been quite successful.
There was no guarantee that he would have won more majors if he had kept his swing.
Majors are very difficult to win and anyone who has won 3 can not be classed as golf studid!
 
Calling Porridge a journeyman is ridiculous. You forget how many times he came second in tournaments before winning. Not many can beat his overall record in the last 10 years.
 
Journeyman. Do me a favour. Ryder cup stalwart, numerous tour winner. THREE majors and so many second places it isn't funny. Not bad for a so called poor golfer. The guy knows his own mind and clearly where he wants to go and do with his game isn't where Torrance wants it to be and so a "break" is ineviatble. Many have gone to different coachs and done well and others have dabbled and gone back to their favourites again. I think there are signs of Paddy getting some semblance of form back. Whatever happens I hope he gets back to form soon as he is a legend in my eyes after the other week come what may

You've got me a bit puzzled here Mongoose...

How can a "Bad Golfer" in your eyes , Win 3 majors....
That's a bit of a contradiction in terms.

Yes i think that Paddy made a mistake changing his swing but i wouldnt say he's a bad golfer for it....
I still think the guy is a great player.
And to be honest i think that there are more wins left in him...
 
He needs to find someone who can get him driving the ball straight. From what I've seen, the rest of his game is pretty much still there but he can't make birdies when his tee shot is 50 yards into the cabbage.
 
According to Bob Torrance the problem with Padraig is "all in his head" as I was told the other day
