Now one of the main reasons im happy I got these clubs as I feel it will show my weaknesses and allow me to work on them how ever surely if you always play cavity backs that are most forgiving then are you truely finding out how good of a player you could be? or is your equipment hiding the fact that everytime you hit the ball your not getting correct connection, or vice versa are you perhaps playing brilliant shots but because of the forgiveness is most clubs they are coming out straight so again not realising true potential of the extra shots you may be able to play?
I guess this is the age-old question regarding which clubs to play with. f.w.i.w. I think you'll be fine with your clubs. I have played with clubs at both end of the spectrum. Most of my clubs have been middle-standard. I don't personally subscribe to the idea using clubs that don't hide weaknesses has any impact at all on your learning. You'll just hit a lot more unsatisfactory shots and be further off target than you could be.
In my professional life, as well as golf, the choice of equipment only affects learning outcomes once you reach a very proficient standard.
I have to add, and this isn't a dig at you in any way; almost everyone uses forgiving and high MOI drivers and many of us use high MOI putters. I just don't understand why everyone wants to constantly push the boundaries with their choice of irons. I say use the easiest irons you can bear to live with and look at (
I don't want to go back to my MP-11 irons, it simply isn't worth looking for the 1 or 2 in 100 shot at the cost of the other 98 or 99.
The irons you have on order are hardly any different in forgiveness to my cavity Mizuno set.....you'll be fine.
