Handicap updates... midnight?

The last couple of cards I've put in have been in the afternoon, evening. As I understand it, my index should change at midnight, but as of 00:40, it hasn't. The score isn't marked as counting yet, although it will be.

I know when I wake up in the morning, all will be well... so it literally doesn't matter at all, but I'm sure it's supposed to be midnight.

The other thing I've noticed is that if you put in a card, and it doesn't get attested until the next day, your handicap updates immediately when it's attested. Just a little quirk, I thought I was going to have to wait another day

Typically, as I posted, it updated. Well, I looked on the website instead of the app and it had a big star and said

Now the app has updated as well. Not sure if the app updated when I logged into the website...

Anyway, this is just midnight ramblings. Literally of no consequence or interest to anyone. Not sure why I'm still going. Who cares?!

Today I will be running our usual Thursday competition, upon entering the final card I close the Comp and send info for immediate update, all handicaps are done within minutes,
not usre why yours take so long.

If there are more people going out after your comp then surely PCC cannot be calculated yet and so it can’t be taken into account in any handicap updates?

As DS has said, handicaps are updated overnight as the PCC cannot be calculated until all scores on the course have been submitted.

What sort of saddo stays up past midnight to see what his new handicap is? 😝
The sort of saddo that doesn't sit there with a pencil and the back of a fag packet, working it out manually whilst getting the post round drinks in.

There are lost of different sorts of saddos. Me? I do it in my head as I walk off the 18th (1 time in 8 will see no PCC adjustment so I will usually be correct) :ROFLMAO:

Not sure where you are coming from.....I stated AFTER I enter the FINAL card I close the competition....people going out after the comp have not entered.....
so what do they have to do with anything ????

Today's comp closed, results published and handicaps updated......17.00 our time.

Can people not enter general play cards in Australia - if so they would impact PCC calculation if they are entered and verified after you close the comp.

Sadly that is the kind of saddo that i am. <sad face>

I know if I score well/badly and know that my handicap will change - do i worry about it before I can check the app, no chance. It will be what it will be.

In fairness, I also calculate how much the cut will be. Since somebody on here told me it was: [highest counting differential] minus [new score differential] divided by 8. :p I guess only PCC can change it then, but PCC is a myth for 50 weeks of the year anyway.

I can't wait until midnight! If I think a round will go into my top eight, I do the maths in the bar over a post-round shandy. Lost 0.3 yesterday. :)

I like the excitement of checking on a Sunday morning and seeing if there has been a change. It's fun. Messages ping between my playing group as to how each of us has changed.

My SiL told me the other day that she works out any change in the bar after a round. She couldn't believe I waited until the Sunday morning. I'm chilled  😂

I usually figure it out in my head on the walk between the 18th green and my car, it's a pretty simple calculation as long as PCC is 0.

The PCC is calculated from all scores submitted for handicap on a day not only your competition, hence if anyone else plays after your comp (whenever it is closed) the system should wait until all scores have been entered, otherwise the PCC may well be wrong. That is why the Dotgolf system here updates near midnight.
