Handicap Question

Following on from my previous post..I shot a 78. Based on my h/c of 20.2 how much would you have expected my h/c to have been cut by ?...The css for the course is 68.

At least down to 15 ish, anything higher than that and you need to seriosuly consider replacing your titleist cap with a sombrero and growing a decidely dodgy moustache and calling all your mates 'amigo'.

I think it is .3 for everything under par which would make it a reduction of 1.5 but if they rule 19 you then you could be looking at a 4 or 5 point reduction in your handicap.

I am probably wrong as it has been years since I had a cut.

cat 4 golfer off 20.2 loses 0.4 per stroke down to 18.2 which is 5 of your 10 strokes under css.

Then you go to cat 3 golfer and lose another 5 x 0.3 = 1.5

18.2 - 1.5 = 16.7

In total you lose 3.5 ( 2.0 as cat 4 and 1.5 as cat 3)
