My Mate Slow Dave went up to play the Struie at Dornoch on his own last weekend.

played the front 9 happily then it started raining, some old codgers cut across in front of him from the front 9 as he had just tee'd off on the 11 and then held him up for the rest of the back 9 in the hissing rain, when he asked them to let him though, they said they wouldn't as he had no standing on the course

He;s a quiet unconfrontational type so just sucked it up.

personally i would have given them both barrels and just pushed past them

Fair play to him for accepting it, I'd definitely have called the pro shop and had a few choice words with them at the end of the round.

And as a result I'd have given them a rocket and insisted I played through. As a singleton surely he'd move quicker anyway

I would have just skipped past them on the next par 3 missed a hole out yes but would have slowed even slower and hold them up just to pi5s them off.
We often cut across from the 16th to the 4th as some of the older guys in our group find it a struggle to do 18 bit only if no one is coming down the 3rd.
