Guess the handicap

i put it in the same categories as

i played well today
i had a handicap cut
Ive joined a new club

i don't care.!!!!

Yet care enough to post three times on thread

as for the Op it's a great score from a junior - how old is the lad Ruff ?

I didn't see it actually, only read the first post and a few guesses.

+2 seemed about right.

Whatever it's great golf and would have been good to watch, they do say the best golf is not exciting though ;)

I know what you mean. The rare times that I'm playing very well I often think that the game is easy and just a tad dull.

Doesn't happen often enough though for me :(

Once did a nett 59 when off 12 h/cap (par 70, gross 71) and haven't managed that gross score since (and certainly no chance of ever doing the nett again). I was on a rapid descent (or is it ascent) to 6h/cap at the time. These things happen. Impressive shooting by the lad though.

What a lot of miserable people we have here today.
That's a great round of golf, and all the more impressive because the young lad did not blow up on the last few holes.

How many of us would have finished double, double in similar circumstances?

As above, once managed a gross 71 for 1 over when off 11, dropped a shot on the last hole too !!, still never managed gross level and not likely too the way my games going.

My 1 over gross included bogeys on last two holes - but it was bound to wasn't it :)

Mind you this year - out by myself one evening playing two balls - I scored a legit eagle with both balls on the same par 5 hole. Our 550yd 14th. Never done it before - will most probably never do it again.

Now all I need is my first 'observed' Hole-in-One. And just spotted the scene of my one and only 'unobserved' hole-in-one (the 6th) is in our new club video

Golf is a weird game when it goes right...

It must take hours to play at your course if you all move in slow motion:rofl:

I think he rather hooked his long iron on the last - he'll tell you that he was deliberately playing it well wide down the LHS to accommodate the LtoR slope of the fairway. But I'm not so sure...:)

Interesting thread. People talk about and defend high handicappers who shoot 45-50 points and beat lower handicappers yet here we are raving about an exceptional score from a low 'capper whjch equates to 40 points 🤔

Looking back at history you are certainly posting from a position of experience and it should be taken as a compliment

We may have disagreed about things, but i only post about stuff I tend to know something about, when i do not know I ASK, you might scan my posts and you will see this pretty clearly.

Maybe if i said in a thread you were flat out wrong about something, it is because I thought you were, i will not simply accept your posts as facts nor should anyone accept mine as the same, but do not whine about other threads in later posts, it makes you look like a bratty child
