Historically I have always struggled with losing the ball to the right as my main miss. At a recent lesson we strengthened my grip with both hands and this had the ball flying a lot straighter, during the lesson hitting a 7 iron and since my ball striking and dispersion have improved greatly.
However with my stronger grip I am now hooking my driver, at the range tonight I played around with my grip and was hitting it much better with a weaker grip (only on the driver). It is currently still in the draw bias setting so I am going to swap this back to neutral and then see how I get on.
But is it normal to see such a big difference from irons to driver in terms of the grip required, it’s a question at my next lesson but keen to hear people’s thoughts on this.
