Well there is nothing like putting words in someones mouth.

I asked why someone was "concerned" so much about another, now it's Doncaster flood victims, people using food banks, the homeless, anything else you want to throw in, how about the starving Africans or perhaps those in Syria, should I take on the worlds problems because I am curious of another.

Stop making things up that you aren't seeing.

EDIT - comment deleted due to being insulting and not acceptable. Apologies to anyone that saw it before I deleted it.

Aspergers = health problem. Oh deary me.

16 year old young person who has done more for climate change awareness than most before her, who has completely rattled the elite who have rightly been shot down in their attempts to belittle her gets backing from me.

Not that the girl with ‘health problems’ who is being exploited all over the shop needs my backing.

Just watched her speech to the UN. I always thought that the best way to engender change is by engaging with your audience and get their buy in. The message, via a speech, is about body language too. As compelling as her speech was, I also felt the ranty aspect to it was a turn off.

Does not look like a very big boat at all for that kind of journey. I was on a similar sized Cat only a week ago island hoping and we were fairly bouncing about. Surely someone’s discussed with her the ramifications if heaven forbid they find themselves in trouble and require search & rescue

Given the lack of other options & offers (due presumably to the dangers etc at this time of year) I really hope this Australian couple aren’t motivated to mitigate some of the risks by the lure of the inevitable increase in their social media following. I can only wish them all a speedy and uneventful journey

I always like to hear her speak.
As for this week alone I have heard about bush fires becoming more powerful and the season lasting longer.
Then today in The Times a report about how buying SUV's eliminates the benefits of electric cars.
The world needs her.

Not if you are a professional yachtsperson, no. But I doubt we have that many on here.

Well ave done two weeks sailing from Southampton to Pauliac on the Bordeaux estuary, Back to Concarnau and onto Guernsey. Let me tell you, she will be shitting bricks and throwing her rocks up. Not the journey for a 16 yr old with aspergers. That said, should she go. Yes. should she of flown, yes. should non professionals have a voice. Yes. Ave a feeling this thread could get interesting.
