Not convinced the difference between 8 and 9 on the stimp are ridiculously slow to reasonable Homer

I think I understand his perspective.

Generally at 8 a ball brakes consistently when chipped or long putted - at 9 it will 'run out'. The difference between the two is usually quite marked.

Once you get beyond 9 it's just a question of how far it runs out...

Someone used to playing on 10 will adjust quickly to 11 but 8 to 9 is much tougher.

Exactly. As I said these might even have been 6.something and were so,slow but good to see someone understanding rather than the cheap and unnecessarily digs that add nothing or have any relevance.

At around eight which a majority of courses tend to be, there does seem a consistency of how far it will run and break but the quicker they get, the more the run out factor has to be included and this for me is always something I find hard to adjust to, especially in chipping. If you don't get to practice on these quicker greens, it can take a few holes and some time to get use to it on the course

Did you play AM or PM at Kingswood? I would say you tee'd off at 2pm but happy to be wrong (again!).......

Well, ours were great today, but I putted like a gimp. 7 three putts. 7. For me, that's just ridiculous. I could hit the hole from anywhere, but the little b would not drop. 30 points stableford, booming the driver , putter colder than a stone.

Greens were beautiful.
