Great round today leads to another cut

Played today and shot 11 over for 40 points. SSS is 35 points so should lead to a cut of 1.5 to go from 14.5 to 13.0--this is my lowest GUI handicap have gone fom 19 to 13 this season.

Delighted with my season. Struck the ball well today could have been better but for a couple of 3 putts. However we played on pole forked greens which did effect the putting.

Played OK but not hitting my irons well at all. Fortunately I chipped very well and 29 putts helped me play to my handicap. Got the monthly stableford tomorrow so we'll see waht happens

Good for you well done, I'm the opposite at present. I seem to have lost the ability to score. Turned a 71 at worst into a 78 today with 4, 3 putts. Two unbelievable horse shoes, and about 4 lip outs, a couple of loose irons and bobs yer uncle.

Totally scunnered and deflated after todays round, really really down with myself as I'm hitting it well but not scoring.

Anyway, not wanting to hijack your thread, well done again thats good shooting.

That is a tremendous drop and you must be well chuffed. I said a few weeks ago when you posted another good news piece that I reckon 10-12 is easily achievable and there isn't far to go now. Keep it going

Yeah i am well pleased--playing tomorrow so hopefully will keep it going.

Homer thanks for your encouagement am now looking to try and get to single figures this time next year. Need to set tough targets to make me work at it.

Good scoring rgs

I need to get into competitions at my new club but its difficult with other comitments at the mo. Not playing badly so may be able to get single figures by the end of the season.

Played today - poor front nine, one blob and three three putts for 12 pts, managed 20 pts on the back nine, the pole forked greens were a problem for all of us.

Just need to consolidate for a few weeks.

I got 39 points yesterday and won our stableford comp. Shame i wasn't playing at my club as i would really have liked to be able to put another good card in for a cut.

Hit the ball really poorly yesterday in the monthly stableford especially off the tee but ended up with 35 points thanks to a razor sharp short game. In the buffer zone so can't complain especially with one blow out and a lost ball down the par 5 5th (made 7 for a point).

Slugger, why dont you take your card to your h/cap sec. He may not cut you, but he will bear it mind the next time you play well

i'll need to get it from the lad who has it. It's all the lads that i used to play football with. He keeps them all for the next time and he can sort out our playing handicaps for the day. already been told i'll get a 2 stroke cut at least for the next one!
