I scored 41 points in todays stableford and have had my handicap cut by 1.5, so my new handicap is 13.0.

I am absolutely delighted, I finally managed to build on a good front nine, the problem now is can I play to it? At least I have a few 0.1 to piay with.

The only slight downside is that I now have to give my opponent in tomorrow knockout semi final an extra 2 shots making 10 in total.

NO Peter, I didn't get a new one, he didn't even suggest that I do. Changed a lot about the way I putt though and I hole 3 20ft+ putts today so something worked.

How do you get a handicap adjustment from a Stableford round? Only route to h/c changes at our club is through medal strokeplay rounds...which explains my 27 handicap and complaints of banditry when I go round in low 90's with 6 par holes as yesterday:mmm:

Stableford is a strokeplay competition the same as a medal. The handicap system converts all scores to stableford for adjustments anyhow.

It could be they don't hold any stableford comps as some clubs don't. My previous club was 99% medals and just a couple of special comps that were stableford.

Don't think of it as a downside. Think of it as, your opponent has 10 shots because they need them and you do not. Go out there and play your game and show your opponent why they need the 10 shots and you will beat them hands down.
