Great movies that are horrible

Weird to see people say Starship Troopers and The Princess Bride when one is considered a very good sci-fi and the other is rated by just about everyone.

I’m not sure Starship troopers is considered a good sci by many. It’s certainly a cult movie. But critical acclaim?

I don’t think the sequels help it.

Any of the Sharknado films.

Sharknado 1 : Enough Said

Sharknado 2 : The Second One

Sharknado 3 : Oh Hell No

Sharknado 4 : The Fourth Awakens

Sharknado 5 : Global Swarming

Sharknado 6 : The Last Sharknado ..... It's About Time

Superb entertainment.

The point being that they are essentially crap films, which now have a cult status.
Lots of people liking them doesn’t suddenly make them good.

Anything buy Russ Meyer...Faster Pussycat Kill Kill, Beyond the Vslley of the Dolls in particular.

No they’re not, they’re terrible films...bad acting, poor scripts, daft plots.

Casper Van Dien has never done anything good. But Starship Troopers is a cult classic.
There’s definitely no way we’re talking about the same two films, especially The Princess Bride which is critically acclaimed, loved by the fans and has high scores on IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.

Starship Troopers “daft plot” is just a satirical take on military might and is meant to be stupidly over the top. Calling it daft is like being annoyed that Happy Gilmore isn’t an accurate reflection on being a touring pro.

High ratings, critical acclaim and/or loved by fans doesn’t mean good
