Great movies that are horrible

Recent post got me thinking.....there are lots of movies/tv shows that I really like....but are in reality TERRIBLE. Buckaroo Banzai is one of them. Movies I can watch over and over......the Mummy with Brendan Frazier (I wish I could do a Benny voice), I once had a dvd ( I kid you not) called Cannibal women in the Avocado Jungle of Death. It wasn't very good, but it had boobs in the beginning..so.... And possibly my ultimate....haven't seen it for a while, but Doc Savage with Ron Ely. Granted, I used to have all the Buck Rodgers and Flash Gordon series. Don't even get me going on the unfairness of killing off Firefly.

My guilty pleasure is Wicker Man - the Nicolas Cage version. Slated as one of the worst movies ever, but here's the key - if you watch it with the mindset that it's a comedy, it is BRILLIANT.

I still love the Carry On films. The gags may be corny and sexist but the comedy timing, the characters etc, I can still watch them.

The Mrs found it while searching for her favourites.
It is so bad its borderline good .

I think I was the opposite way with this. That movie is consistently rated in the top comedies of all time, but I watched it and barely laughed once. And normally I love Bill Murray.

Absolutely agree with you awful film that just isn't funny at all.

Bit like most of Arnold's films a lot of them are terrible but so worth watching because they have Arnold in them.

It has Michael Ironside in it - automatically makes it watchable. But you are spot on, it is really dire but entertaining. The difference between a citizen and a civilian is ... Rico???
