Afternoon all,

Being a northern luddite and general technophobe, I have thus far avoided a GPS/Laser thingy for on the course. However, much like the internet and running water, I’m ready to embrace the change and purchase a GPS. I don’t want anything fancy that has lots of pictures, just simple readings of distance to green and a shot measurer(?) function would be nice. I do like to measure my GM length 350 yard drives….

Budget is an issue, not looking much more than £120 if possible. I’ve shortlisted a few, Garmin S1 & S2, Golfbuddy WT4 and the TomTom jobby. Does anyone have a recommendation for such a device for a simple northern lad looking to avoid getting lost on a golf course? Any other models that fit the bill. I like passive research where the research comes to me……

Cheers

Try an app on your phone? This would enable you to see if you like GPS functionality?

Can you show him where the app plugs in :D

None of your business!

If I wanted 'secrecy' I wouldn't have posted!

It's a 'Private' message!

:rofl:Its an open forum, he's asked an open question, just can't see the point in you openly posting "PM sent", it serves no purpose and begs the question.

Jeez, some people...

If you are happy with a GPS watch then the S1 and S2 are very good

As is the golf buddy you mention

You don't need a subscription for either of those, however you can update to a subscription on the Aire ll to access extra features if you want.

As the man who knows, if I was considering one to go along with my Bushnell laser which would you advise?
