Goverment pv4 free

Has anyone taken up the goverments free offer of solar panels fitted to there roof.
I have a leaflet from Stroma solar that offers this in the southwest.
Are there any hidden extras,anyone had any dealings.

We are being inundated from companies trying to get us to sign up for this. From what I can gather, these are not solar panels but Solar Photovoltaic Panels which are not dependant on bright sunshine but just daylight so they work even on dull days.
I also understand that these are not free, but as a householder you have to pay to have them fitted. That means that although they start to earn you money straight away, you have still paid out a fortune in the first place.

I did do some research into this,but i was told i would have to pay for a survey on my property,to determine how efficient the system would be ?
Call me a cynic,but when a company tells you that the whole thing is free,including installing the panels and system,as the cost will be covered by Goverment grants.How the hell do they get away with "hidden costs" ?
