Couldn't resist it on Saturday. I had an itching for one. Been trialling them out for about 2 months now back and fourth to guitar shops and being that guy who just comes in and plays them.

A Fender Mexican Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red with Maple neck.

Seen here too with my project Pacifica guitar (that I'm now selling) I just love it. Great guitar, and IMO way more fun to use than the old Les Paul Standard I used to have. Absoutely amazing through the crunch channel on my Blackstar amp. Could sit and play it for hours on end.

My other half is getting quite sick of hearing Sultans of Swing now haha

That's a beauty - congrats. Timeless design, versatile etc. but best of all they just sound great. Candy Apple Red or Lake Placid Blue is the perfect colour :-)

eer, give me a Jazzmaster or Jaguar anytime over a strat.. not my cup of tea at all.

Never thought they would be mine either Patrick. It just happened. I was a really staunch Les Paul fan. Not so much now. I used to have a Jag with P90's in it. Nice one it was.

a Jag with p90, what did that sound like?

used to have a gibson 330 with p90, thinking of getting another, one of the Gibson Custom shop reissues.

never been a LP fan myself, don't like humbuckers... untill i got a gretch chet atkins country gent last year with filtertrons.

It sounded great but too jazzy for me. Very clean and solid almost creamy in sound. Neck pickup all day long. At this time I just liked OD1 on my blackstar and all the sound just broke up on the bottom end. Not the guitar for that type of thing. I reckon now I'd get on with it better.

My old lead guitarist RIP,use to set the toggle pickup switch at the half way point in between . He reckoned he got the best sound on his 1960 Strat from that setting.
Sounded the same to me

My new little project addition to the collection.

The P90-esques are surprisingly good and so much different to the humbuckers on :

And the neck is fab, and I love the grain. The tone pot has a massive range and sensitive throughout. No doubt Chinese made but build quality is really surprisingly good

Not bad for less than £100 !

Thats a bad boy

Mind you the Pacifica looks really nice also.

Heres my most recent. Not quite on the scale of a Fender, however its a beaut. Sounds really lovely and warm.

Tanglewood TSB 59

I know own two Tanglewoods, yet have only been playing for a matter of weeks. Strange how things pan out ha ha

Lovely guitars folks. Love that orange P90 setup. The pics don't do the strat justice at all. The candy apple red finish is metalic in nature and reacts to the light. The Maple neck has so much character to it, so many different things to look at. Prefer the maple to rosewood as the rosewood tends to resist bends going against the grain. The glossy maple just feels like your gliding over the board.

It needs a pro setup. I have a guy called Jimmy Egypt across from my work so I'm sure I'll get it into him as some point.
