A good gorse tip is to clamber into the gorse bush as you'll always find golf balls.
Once you have found one have a good close look around as you'll find another three within a three foot radius (almost guaranteed). This I leaned as a lad when as a family we used to camp beside Dunkeld and Birnham Golf Club - loads and loads of gorse. Whenever we had a half hour me and my wee brother would climb over the fence and crawl around under the gorse (the prickly stuff is mostly on top) and harvest dozens of golf balls.
