I played my last 18 holes for this year as I'm due in hospital on Thursday for the hip replacement (I was sure the surgeon said hip flask) and had a 4BBB matchplay friendly game with my regular partner and two great guys.

I started off with 4 straight pars, which included stroke indexes 1 and 3 and also had 3 birdies in the round which was halved with our opponents on the last. I haven't ever hit the ball much better and it gives me great hopes for single figures next year. The weather also was great, no wind and although not shirtsleeve weather it wasn't far off.

A great way to finish and the memory will spur me on for next year

Great to hear Chris and I wish you well with your surgery and a quick return to full health and mobility.

Good round, mate!

All the best for the surgery and the recovery, Chris.

Great finish Chris, and hope that we can arrange that game next year (my holiday starts again in January)

Good luck with the Op.

Remember to tell the surgeon you want the new hip that promotes a soft draw. My mate did but unfortunately forgot to say that he was left handed, and still has the same old fade.:)

All the best Chris.

Well played Chris. Where are you having the op done so we can get the surgeon for you if he leaves you with a slice and not a draw. Hope you are back golfing soon but hey - winter golf - you're not missing much

Good luck Chris

While you are "off Course" you can still get your Golf Fix here

Hope it all goes well and you are up and about very soon.

A neighbour of mine had a knee replacement done and was playing within 7 weeks
Blooming amazing.... He's still rubbish though :-)

I managed 9 holes after 2 weeks 1 day when I had the other hip done and a winter league game the next week, some 2 years ago.

Thanks again to you all, your comments show what a great bunch this forum has!

Well played, good timing for the op, who wants to play golf in the cold anyway.

Fade or draw it doesnt matter, just get a new one that works, best of luck with the op and the rehab. Hope to meet you on course next season.

Good luck Chris

Hope it all goes well and enjoy your new bionic hip in 2012 ........."we can rebuild him"

Thanks again to those who have added comments since I last posted

I am trying to find out what I'm worth .... scrap value?
