Nipped down to the range after work to hit a few balls (haven't it any for 3 weeks :() As it was fairly dark I warmed up with 7 iron, hit a few 5 irons for distance then spent 45 mins on short game.

Everything was looking in shape, especially my wedge play from 60-100 yards, landing on the greens and around the flags. I was very impressed and extremely happy! - Wedge play and approach is the grey area of my game, but my new vokey 56* feels like an absolute dream, i don't have to put any effort into my swings!

I've also signed up to a golf club and become a member as of Monday, so a pal and fellow member is going to come round with me for 3 rounds to get me a handicap before the end of March ready for Hanbury Manor for the Centenary!!

I love this game!

Nice start to the weekend then......just be thankful you didn't have a dose of the shanks!

Have you had a handicap before or is this the first?

This will be my first! I've never been a member at a club before, only now i've quit playing football and want to get into comps I decided I needed to join!

I'm feeling confident I should be around 25, hopefully better!

If you're knocking wedges all over flags you will be much lower than 25, short game is what it's all about!
Good luck
