The course was played during the clubs September walk on open, off the white tees.

On a chilly but bright September Morning stood on the tee of the opening hole not much wind about. I spanked my drive straight down the middle always good with an audience.

The first hole is now a shortish par 5, dog leg left to a raised green. A great starting hole, easily reachable in two, but the road is just behind the green so long is not an option.
Then on to a short par 3 with a bank and bunker protecting the front of the green. Was on with my tee shot but the green is large with a massive hump in the middle. Depending where the flag is you need to make sure you land on the right side.

Next is a par 4 with the beach down the left hand side and deep rough right. Played a great second shot here a couple of years ago off the beech and made par.

The 4th is a bit of a monster par 5 depending on the wind can be two big hits to reach the ditch running across the fairway 120 yards from the green. Par is good here not sure it would even be possible to reach in two even for big hitters.
This is followed by a short driveable par 4, but beware. The green is on a plateau at the back of a large dune and has the beach on the left a massive dune the other side. One more par 3 again protected by a massive dune to the right which is part of the 16.
The course then takes you inland with a short uphill par 4, followed by a tricky long par 4 and you are into the heath land part of the course. The 9th is SI 1 and a good drive is needed here with heather on both sides anything but the fairway is usually a reload.

You now reach a stretch of holes where you can make a score. A short par 3 over water followed by 3 short par 4’s and then a short par 5, which is reachable in two. Then you turn again onto a long par 4 then the very tricky 16 with a 3 tiered green perched on a dune. The 17th is another card wrecker you need to be able to carry at least 200 yards over the dune to a flat green with rough behind .On to 18 a long par 4 at 440 with the second a blind shot over another huge dune well protected with bunkers. Again par is a good score on this hole

The course was in excellent condition for the time of year, and the greens a credit to the green keeper. If you are ever in this part of the world Golpie is a must play.

You won't be. :D

I've told them to look out for a four eyed English bloke wearing white Trousers and a black thong with a rollup fag stuck in his gob and not to let him on :D :D :D
