I have golfshot gps on my iPhone but I'm getting really peed off with the phone. I'm thinking of going back to a blackberry, does anyone have one using golfshot? What's it like? How quick is it to update yardages?

Cheers

Not sure what app it was but PNWokingham was using one on his blackberry at Beau the other day. Seemed more than ample.

I have two different golf gps apps on my Blackberry. Both are free, both do a good job.

www.bbgpsgolf.com - text only, you can add up to 5 different points on each hole when you map it (bunkers, hazards, trees etc.)

www.swingbyswing.com - uses Google satellite maps. Has the benefit that you can click the target at any point on the image and it will give you the distance to that point from you, and from that point to the centre of the green.

I paid the addition $12 for the advanced stats and have been very impressed. You record you drive direction and number of putts as well as your score, submit at the end of the round and there's an email waiting for you when you get home with your card, round stats and overall stats.

When I went the reverse route and chopped my Blackberry in for an iPhone back in November, Golfshot was not supported by Blackberry. The other GPS apps on it don't come close.

I'm actually in a similar situation- phone's up for renewal and am torn between blackberry and iphone. Can anyone advise! I will make a decision based purely on golf apps available as i don't need anything else other than phone/text.

Remember when phones just phoned...

In terms of apps (not just golf ones) the iPhone is miles ahead of Blackberry. They are like chalk and cheese.
