Golfing superstition??

I always used to wear my lucky belt when playing golf. I dont need to now as the voices keep telling me they dont like it.

Only superstition I have is I never wash my golf ball prior to a tee shot with water in play
Just do not like the idea of me washing the ball, drying it then splash! in the pond it goes
It'll be washed for the rest of its days without cleaning it beforehand.

I never use a full tee on any hole. Even if I'm using a new one I snap the end off it. Don't know why though.

Likewise I don't really have golfing superstitions as such, but I always tell a new foursomes partner that the word 'sorry' is banned during play. Also the other word for 'lucy locket' should never, ever, ever be mentioned - especially when on the golf course - and no hats to be worn inside the clubhouse.

I don't really have any superstitions although my tees and markers have to be in my left hand pocket but that is more a comofrt thing

Interesting.. my tee and markers r on the right pocket else the glove gets in the way... Are you left handed?

I take my wedding ring off, but thats from the fear of loosing it! I remove my glove after every shot, something my old pro taught me, glove off = relax, glove on = concentrate. My bag has a nice little spring loaded clip thing that holds that and my car keys.

I like organised pockets too, tees and pitch repair right trouser pocket, ball marker left pocket with lighter... glove goes in back right pocket.

I do that - hadn't thought about it in that way though but it is what I do - play shot glove off, then when about to play again glove on - bit like getting into your work gear. And yes on concentration - Slowly and carefully pulling on my glove and making sure it's nice and comfortable. Kind of switches my mind into 'playing shot' mode, gives me a little time to compose myself and think, and prevents me 'rushing' into a shot.

I do that too, but hadnt looked at it that way. My old pro got me into the habit. Did it once or twice, just to 'take my mind off' between shots, but now has become a habit rather than a superstition.
