Do your other/ better ;) halves play golf? Just a simple question but is is amazing how many golfing fanatics meet a woman and turn her into a golfer yet i get the picture on here that not many people are lucky enough to count time on the course as bonding time with the Mrs- meaning of course you could get more golf in!

HID did learn to play and we went to the Ashbury Manor with another couple who were golfers and members at my club. First full day there we went bowling in the evening and HID slipped on the lane and snapped a ligament in her wrist and broke the bone. Trip to Exeter hospital and no more golf for her. She has never played or hit a ball since

No interest, but as the plan before I went to Malaysia was to get a bike on my return but I got the bug and bought clubs instead, no arguments either.

I'm lucky that my wife does play, means we can take the clubs on holiday etc. Worst thing is she's had a better season than me this year!

she watches it now and again and enjoy a trip to a town we both love in St Andrews but apart from that nothing.......superb just the way I like it and just the way it should stay hopefully. We would prob split up if she got into it and heard the whispers what really happens at the club or on tour! :D

ABSOLUTLY NO WAY!

It's chill time on the course. Me time. Man time. Quiet time.

Get to talk to men about man things!

I appologise in advance if that has offended any of our female members!

I lived next to a course in my childhood and had clubs when I was about ten but didn't particualrly like the game. I thought it would be a good hobby for mr B when he was approaching retirement but in the end we both went along to a lesson with another couple and all got hooked. Luckily the kids were able to look after themselves by then. If he'd played when they were young we might not have been married this long!
It has been a great thing to do together and means we have lots of golfing holidays. I do grumble sometimes if he is booked on a boys' day out - but only because there's a dearth of ladies at our club. One day I'll retaliate - I hope.

Surprisingly enough my wife and her golfing friends are of the exactly the same mind. They play their game, have a drink in the clubhouse and a good natter just like we do after a game. Although I introduced my wife to the game I only play golf with her in the mixed fours events and when on holiday. The rest of the year she plays her golf and I play mine.

Not a chance - wish she would coz with work and other commitments we don't get much time.

She's got dodgy shoulders so there's no hope of her even picking the sticks up.

My wife (Sam) has an interest in golf, apparantly she used to play when she was younger, but she has never swung a club in front of me!
She loves walking though and if she gets the chance will walk the course with me, even offering to carry my bag if I'm getting tired. She loves it when I am playing well, and you can see the look of pride on her face.
The very first time I took her out on a course though it was a little different. We went down to Celtic Manor for the week-end as I was playing in a large corporate day on the Monday. A few of my mates were playing in it as well and we had booked up to play a couple of rounds on the two days prior to the event.
Went out on day one, I smacked one off the first tee hit it well but found a fairway bunker on the left. I had a "so so" lie, and despite the safe shot being a 7 iron to get it up somewhere around the green, a mixture of ego and wanting to impress her saw me pull the 5 iron out and go for the glory shot. I was going to sit it 3" from the hole. Big mistake. Caught it slightly thin, the ball hit the front lip of the bunker, flew up in the air sideways and buried itself in some nearby bushes. I was totally pissed off with myself for attempting the shot, and when I turned around to look for sympathy, Sam was sitting in the buggy laughing her head off. I went berserk!! Well not quite berserk, but had a go at her for laughing at me...the next few holes were played in relative silence but I eventually calmed down and apologised. Totally out of order on my part and we kissed and made up. We've been fine ever since but she has never laughed at a cock up again!
