ok so we have the obvious ones of golfweather.com & the met office, but does anyone use a site that they find more accurate and why.

ive been using golf weather which is normally pretty good buts its let me down twice in the last month, and im trying to get an accurate estimate for sunday.

Nature of the beast, they aren't always going to be right.

I download data to run in an application/model using usgrib

The picture I posted to the thread on this weekends weather was a screenshot from that.

www.grib.us

there is a mobile app as well, which is actually better than the pc version!

don't be put off by it being a marine service

I use wonderground for away opens and weather for Tain which is 40 miles away from my home.

It has private weather stations attached so can be very localised. The BBC weather up here is about as good as just looking out the window;(

im trying to get an accurate estimate for sunday.

the previously predicted heavy band of rain overnight sat/early sun (for us) is now expected to break up before it gets to us - very little today or tommorow but warmer with light rain all day sunday.

because it's broken up there's also more chance that local conditions/contours, will effect what you get - with the North Downs between us we may get slightly different scenarios on an hour by hour basis.

OS

I use the weather Channel.com and use the clubs post code, generally not bad but not liking it much for Sunday

I use Accuweather and it's as accurate as I've found. Obviously depends on wind movement but they constantly update.

Did a test at work a few years ago where we compared a load of weather sites and their 'current' conditions. It was hammering it down outside and only accuweather said it was currently raining.

Good enough for me
