Golf Umbrella's!!!!!

If the wind is too strong or gusty I don't bother with putting mine up. Seen too many turn inside out and ones that turn a trolley over.
It amuses me the number of broken ones I find stuffed in a bin on windy days.

Having read through this blog twice, not read anywhere that folk are saying it is the fault of the brolly. Think folk are gobsmacked at said price of brolly.

You must have missed the bits where people said that all brollies break in the wind, and that the brolly broke when it did a Mary Poppins whilst attached to the trolley. Both examples were the fault of the user and do not reflect the fact that good quality umbrellas do not normally break when used correctly.

Using a Brolly on a (particularly Scottish!) Golf course is almost as senseless as using one on a Motor Bike (imo!!)!

I rarely use a brolly, they can be a pain and you end up flaffing about with them far too much if the wind & rain is really up, one less thing to worry about not using one, Galvin Green is my protection :D

However, I have a decent vented Nike one I won and have only used a couple of times, a brand new company logo (corporate) one I won and two I was given at Chrimbo by companies, think I'll bring them down to Camberley for the H4H's raffles

Ive got a taylormade one that I bought when we went camping and it survived that so went straight in the bag! think it was about £20 a year or so ago. Although Ive only used it once on the course. Dont like faffing around with them tbh

Yeah I know that coz it was me that broke the motocaddy brolly when attached to my trolley on my first outing. Trouble is in wind and rain, you are damned if you do and wet clubs if you don't. I was given a adidas brolly in a comp I played. The automatic open button keeps falling out, it is Rammel. Glad I did not buy it.

Got a Gustbuster and must say was poor. First time I played links in about 20mph wind it ripped the black end cap off. And am sure the water was leaking at the top last time I had it out.

Definitely won't be paying another 35 quid for another one.

Best brolley l ever had was called a coat and a hat. Still got it.

I mean, brollies, what are they all about then? Up, down, up, down, where do l put it; damn, it's blown away; oh, blocks, what did i do with that 5 iron when i chased the brolley. The sun's out now best roll it up, damn the holder is on the wrong side of the bag. Oi, you nearly had my eye out then. Damn it's raining again. And them little holders on your trolley handle, what that all about. Girlie hairdo's only need keeping dry if you are actually a girl. Man up, get the wind in your hair, the rain on your face. Errr, best stop now... Sorry

Rarely bother if there's a decent wind about. Too much like hard work and to be honest I find it better for the concentration not to use it rather than mucking about putting it up and down all the time. If it's heavy rain I keep a towel inside the hood of the bag to dry my hands and usually have spare gloves anyway. I'll use an umbrella if there's not too much wind around or not raining too hard. They've been £30-40 for a long while

I don't use one - I carry so find it annoying - so use it on rainy school runs (nike TW). Invested in waterproofs and not looked back.
