Can anyone recommend a pro near Newcastle. It's now time to have a few lessons so would appreciate thoughts of others in the area who has had some. I use the driving range at parklands, gosforth and they have a pro, if he is any good?

Thanks, Kev

Kev,

Parklands has several Pros that give lessons, so dunno which one u have in mind...??

But I can recommend the following

Craig Fetherston ........ Wallsend Golf Club/Driving Range, also works at Philipps Discount Golf too
Michael - ''Spike'' - Nesbitt ........ Westerhope Golf Club
Steve McKenna ...... City of Newcastle Golf Club

No one in particular at parkland, it's just convenient as that's the driving range I use. I went up there today and had a chat and I might use inept the phase assistants then if that doesn't help progress to the head pro as money isnt in abundance but again something to consider if the head pro sorts me out quicker

It's a little bit further to travel but well worth it Dave Fletcher at Chester-le-Street. He has made a massive difference to my game. Cost £30 per hour but you get more than an hour, he's very conscientious, dedicated and clear. He takes you out on to practice area using real golf balls and a video camera as well, a must as far as I'm concerned as you need to see what you are doing. A picture paints a thousand words and as Butch Harmon said feel and real are different, what you think you are doing is different to what you are doing, and the camera confirms that.
I was recommended him by a scratch golfer at our place who uses him. It's really frightening how much he knows about the golf swing.
Give him a try it's well worth the money and travel as he can't do enough for you.
Good luck let us know where you ended up and how you got on.
