Golf Principles - Fitting Centre

I've purchased gear from them, but haven't been to GP. I do know folk who have, and they recommend it as much as they recommend PG - or AGT in Scotland, both of which I have experienced and recommend. Appears to be the same sort of setup and the same level of service, quality and potential spend!

Hawkeye. I think you are fibbing when you say you are only going for loft/lie check/set! DG (nearest is at Sandown) do (or maybe did) it for free as part of MOT.

Nope, no fibs here. DG may do it for free, but for some reason I'd rather go to a guy who's spent most of his career doing it for the pros. Call me stupid, but I'd sooner pay £25 there than nothing at DG.

Fair enough. Your choice.

But it's not a highly skilled task (at least for forged clubs) if you have the proper equipment. Even I have done it! There's more skill entailed in replacing a grip imo! Not sure I'd want to do it for AP1s though - though they are much less likely to move anyway.

I got fitted for a driver by Jason at golf principles a couple of years ago, like Wookie it wasn't cheap but there was no hard sell, and to paraphrase homer.... The numbers don't lie! It really is an Aladdins cave for golf geeks.

Shame I cracked my accra tour z shaft last month :o

Excuse the threadjack, but....
Unless it's Matchplay (in which case it wouldn't surprise), then there'd appear to be something a bit iffy about that - either him being too high or everyone else being too low.
Would certainly expect him to be competitive most times, but winning 'nearly all'? Nope!
It was a bit of banter for Hawkeye to approach him with. I would have thought by now you would know to treat what I say with a pinch of salt.

It' snot really answering the opening question...but could maybe help. Does anyone know of something similar in that neck of the woods where you have the choice of shafts and heads, the very experienced staff, all the launch monitors and gizmos but with an outside range so you can also see ball flight...

seems like the holy grail to me... Does it exist? Maybe this would throw another choice into the mix

Jason has been talking recently about using a range for fittings too, not sure if its part and parcel of the normal, or something he uses later.

Ben Cummings is also located at the Golf Principles studio and does putter fitting and analysis, with some very competitive deals at the moment, he works on a putting monitor and provides feedback to your swing, setup etc giving tips and drills that you can work through. Ben is attached to Tylney Park.

That's harsh, I'll give you 2012, he was definitely positive in 2012, not so much in 2011 and 2013 :D

Cup was positively runneth over until my lesson last night. Big change in posture to give me more room and make a start on reducing the lateral movement up and down I have. Irons are 5/10 but enough good ones and a drill to get that working better. Driver 1/10 and doubtful I'll ever see a fairway again.

For the records I was ecstatic in 2011 and won a few stablefords and several top threes. Very happy in 2012 repeated the feat. 2013 was the first year in the last six without a win of some description and despite that and a shocking short game I still enjoyed my golf. Only played once in 2014 and there was some good stuff (fading and drawing shots at will) and enough to be hopeful. Until last night! Still, got the rest of the week to sort it so lets stay positive

We'll be fine, we wouldn't want to venture any higher than mid table anyway, that would be way out of our comfort zone :D

Just so you know, it's combined stableford on Sunday 3/4 handicaps.

Was looking for top ten glory but then realised we always find a fresh way to pluck disaster from success. I have no expectations and will take it as it comes.
