Golf lessons

I've never had my swing filmed during a lesson, but wouldn't object as it would be nice to see it filmed properly. I've filmed myself at the range using my phone before but it's tricky to get a decent angle. What I have seen hasn't made me proud. Funny how it feels good....but looks wrong. I obviously watch too many good swings on YouTube!

thanks for the link bobmac have down loaded and will drag daughter out with the camcorder tomorrow

If you do it's a real help if you film the swing from 2 specific places.
The first is obviously from face on and would include the feet and the clubhead at the top of the backswing.
And secondly, probably more informative, the view from behind the ball, looking to the target. If you can position a fore-mentioned daughter so she stands in between your feet and the ball looking down the line and far enough back again to get in the feet and the top of the backswing

Bob do you actually use an overhead shot of the swing regularly. I've never seen anyone offer it and to be honest is there anything to be gained that you can't see down the line or from the side

Has anyone ever had a video lesson and seen their swing from directly above?
Just wondering if anyone would like to see that view. It would definitely show up any swing path issues and any lateral movement

i have a video of me swinging from above, will try a get one of me golfing:mmm:

between this post and the video on the stretching post I modified my swing yesterday with positive results so goes to show for me at least they are of some benefit

I haven't tried using the overhead view yet, I was just asking if anyone else had.
The problem with the two views you mentioned is you need 2 cameras filming one swing.
The front view to check grip and weight transfer and the rear view to check swing path and plane.
With the overhead shot, you will be able to see the same with just one camera.
I also think it will really show up the out to in swing and when it starts to go wrong.
