Golf Insurance. Yes or No

I have it. Mainly for the personal liability but I tend to store my clubs in the locker in the summer and Carrick & Neill did me a policy which covers theft the locker. Not covered by the household insurance apparently

yes - personal one - basic package
yes - the club have added dosh to the fees to cover us for insurance too!

doubly covered! i'll be fine if i ever get a hole in one...;)

Yes, definitely.

Covered by the club policy when playing at home but wanted to make sure I was covered for away days.

For the amount of money it costs it really is a no-brainer - even if the chances of hitting someone and having to payout 400k are pretty small, for 30 quid or less it's got to be worth it.

After that guys loosing his eye playing Niddry Castle Golf Course recently, and my friend hitting a transit van, with a way ward tee hit @ the Brairds Golf Course. And we upgrading my clubs, i have been thinking about getting insurance. But i don't know much about it.

yep, think it's essential to cover yourself in this day and age of "sue anybody", and in the VERY unlikely event I get a hole in one it's a bit sweeter. A well spent 30 quid.

Not for me. I'm in the minority.

If you have expensive gear and are genuinely worried about being sued, it's a no-brainer.

I have no such concerns.

in thirty five years of golf , ive never thought of insurance , but when you see the claim won by that man [?] for a massive amount , makes me think maybe i should. Another option is for members and visitors of the course to sign a no claim waver

Yes, had it for several years now. About 35 quid + cover while abroad for an extra fiver with Carrick Neil. Never had to claim but you always hope you never never need to with any insurance (except for the hole in one!). It's for peace of mind for the nightmare scenario where I do some serious damage to someone realy. Also (as above) my clubs are also not covered under the house insurance if they are kept outside the house for >30 days and I have a locker for convenience at the club.

Can I just ask. This massive claim made by the fella who got hit. I'm assuming the person he sued had insurance or was very rich otherwise how would he have paid that sort of money? I'm pretty sure if you are sued then your ability to pay comes into the calculation when awarding damages.

Ive never had insurance before, ( personal cover ) but am giving it serious thought this year
Ive got a quick question for those that have insurance, to save me trawling through every companies exclusions.............

With your policy, are your clubs / equipment insured whilst you may be on the practice ground at your club or at a driving range, aswell as being at golf course.........??

Never gave it much thought, until recently, whilst collecting my practice balls back up, from my club practice ground, my son ( 12 ) says, ''Dad, are we just leaving our clubs here???'' ......... At the other end of the practice ground
Just thinking, housing estate nearby, practice ground 250yards or so long, kids run on, u get the picture.......:o

Certainly am - and got three free rounds at decent courses as an introductory offer. No brainer really when you consider the possible downside.

I don't think any insurance company is going to pay out if you have just abandoned your clubs. I think they expect you to show reasonable diligence.

That's the same package I have Munro, when I joined 2 years ago on the bronze package (£24.99 it was) I got an email 6 months later offering a £10 upgrade to gold and a dozen Taylormade Burner TP balls free, was a no brainer and having been abroad twice since then and seen other golfers have issues with their gear I was glad firstly that it wasn't me, but secondly that I knew I would be covered had it been me.
