Hi all this is my first post as i have just joined the site, basically i am very new to the game and have only been playing since august 2011, anyways does anyone no any good courses for beginners in the Ayrshire area, i play the 9 hole course at caprington in kilmarnock but would like to try something different, i have also played the East Kilbride play-sport course, any help would be great

Troon Fullarton is a shortish 18 holer. Part of the Municipal set up.
I would avoid Darley and Lochgreen for a while.
Ayr Dalmilling is also a pretty forgiving course, not too long and, apart from a couple of holes, plenty of room.
There is also a Par 3 course and golf range at Roodlea. It is about a mile past Dobbies and the Cattlemarket A70 outside Ayr

Roodlea now has a short game area and is changed from a par 3 course to a 9 holer. Great setup there.

If you want to head the opposite direction, Mearnscastle Golf Academy is only 20mins up the road.

maybe not close enough for reguar use, but does have full range, short game avail.
The coaching session are good value with full visoe & swing analysis available too.

Plenty of learners, so no pressure
