Golf in and around central Manchester

Will be up in Manchester next week and looking for some recommendations on places to play.

Need to be fairly close to centre as I have a number of meetings and work to do but hoping to slip out for a quick 18

Any recommendations welcome

Hi Heaton park golf course. Ok its a muni but it is a full comp course and not easy. Only 10 mins from the center of Manchester. If going in the week not really any need to book just roll up.

Other than that you have North manchester, Whitefield, Blackley(told its not in very good nick though), Prestwich(a bit cramped), all within 15/20 mins away.

P.s. you have to pass my abode to get to any of them, as I only live a 10 min walk from the center of M/c.

I have played heaton park many times alway in good nick. But not played it for a year or so. So it may have changed in that time?

You also have many courses within 15 mins of Deansgate / Piccadilly.

I believe Chorlton is a nice course.

Heaton Park is certainly recommendable.

Played it a couple of times a few years ago and would rate it in the top few Munis I've played :thup: - St Andrews courses taking the top slots!
