Golf glove

It hurts my tender ladylike hands when I hit a full shot without a glove. Honestly, it does. I am always surprised when I try it how noticable it is. And it is not chafing my skin or anything, I just feel the club kick a lot more. Maybe my grip slips more without the glove and that's why.

I've started reading "Five Lessons" - the first being on "The Grip". The emphasis seems to be on feeling and control. Does having a glove in any way reduce feeling and control? I'd have thought it might. I watched a video of Ben Hogan from the 1970s, and he wasn't using a glove. Are gloves just fashion items?

Not really if you get a decent one. I would recommend anything that is 100% leather in the palm. Can normally get the Srixon ones for 8-10 quid or FJ SofJoys for a tiny bit more.

If you are worried about feel you can take it off for chipping/putting, will also stop it getting sweaty too quickly.

When I started playing golf I didn't ask I just saw everyone else wearing one so assumed that's what you do. I am so used to it I don't think I'd not wear one.
